Busy week!

This week students will have a lot of important things:

Tuesday and Wednesday mornings: MEAP test (Reading)  Please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep the night before and a delicious, healthy breakfast each morning.  Also, a big hug and little encouragement can mean a lot, too.  Thank you!

Thursday: Chapter 1 Science test over plants

Happy Tuesday!

Students' bedroom maps looked great! If your child hasn't turned his or hers in yet, it is officially late.  Please turn it in as soon as possible.

Students do have homework tonight, but I did give them an extra day.  It's due Thursday, 9/27.  We should be wrapping up Unit 1 at the end of the week, so I would expect a math test toward the beginning of next week and science test toward the end of next week.

Progress reports will be coming home at the end of next week.  Doesn't it seem way too early??? Hard to believe we're halfway through the first marking period already.

Have a great week!

First Monday...Check!

Good afternoon!
Today was our first official Monday and the start of our first "normal" week.  We should have all our specials (Music on Monday, PE on Wednesday and Friday) at our normal times and try to get into a routine.
Today is also the day your child brought home (or should have brought home) their Monday folders with last week's papers, as well as several important new ones.  We need the technology release forms back and student of the week posters turned in within the next week or so.  Also, if I was missing a paper from the Third Grade Packet or the money bag, I resent a note regarding that.

I hope your child had a good first week...to be followed by many more!

First Day Jitters!

Well, I hope your child had a marvelous first day.  I thought everything went very well and I'm very excited to get to know this group of wonderful third graders.  I think we'll have a terrific year.

Students are asked to bring in their favorite book this week, whether it's a current favorite or one from their younger years.  Students will have a chance to share them with the class in the coming week(s).  Thank you!

If you need to get a hold of me, please remember that email is a great way or calling Mrs. Hill will work, too. Thanks for returning so many of the forms and moneybags so promptly.  If you haven't yet, please try to do so this week.  Thank you!

The Countdown Is On...

It's almost that time again!  If you are reading this, you must be really excited about school starting.  Me too!  Mrs. Hill will be sending you a list with all the supplies you'll need for your year in third grade.  I am so excited to meet you.  I know we'll have a great year this year.

See you soon...very soon!
