Happy New Year!

Good afternoon! I hope you're enjoying your vacation and spending lots of time with your family.  Only a few more days of 2011 left!

I can't wait to see some of the Native American dwellings I'm sure you've been working on.  I love the creativity I see in them! Also, we have a new student starting next Tuesday, so we're excited to meet her.

Enjoy your break...see you Tuesday, January 3, 2012!

Happy Holidays!

It's hard to believe only six days until Christmas! I hope you're enjoying the hustle and bustle of the season. Tomorrow is our class Christmas party.  I look forward to spending the time with the students.  Wednesday we will be singing carols in the morning and doing some projects with other third grade classes, then watching a movie in the afternoon.

Students can expect to have homework tomorrow (Tuesday night), which will be the last homework for this year! Just a reminder that Native American dwellings are due January 9.

Happy holidays! Enjoy the season and time with your child!

Happy Holidays!

Wow! What a busy time of year! I really enjoyed the Christmas program Monday and the students looked fabulous.  I hope you've been enjoying this holiday season...even without the snow.

Please remember to have your child bring in his or her gift for a classmate on or before Dec. 20.

Students did have homework last night and will most likely have it again tonight.

Merry Christmas!

Tuesday....

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving break.  We will be drawing names for Christmas gifts later this week in our classroom.  I may have said it wrong in my newsletter...the gift your child brings in should have THEIR name on it, not who it is to.  Sorry!

Students will have a few extra music practices in the coming weeks to prepare for their performance Dec. 12 at 7:00.  I hope your child can make it!

Students DO have homework tonight.

This week...

Hello! Well, students do have homework tonight, as expected, but I think they'll also have homework tomorrow.  We made more progress than anticipated today!  Wednesday may or may not be a homework day.  Sorry that my estimates were a little off.  Have a very happy Thanksgiving!

Nearly Halloween!

Good evening! I hope by now you have your child's Halloween costume figured out:)  Please remember that students should not have weapons and will not have time for face painting.  We will be getting ready around 12:45 and start the parade around 1:00.  Students have recess from 1:45-2:10, then we will have our food and party until the end of the day.  Thank you to all the parents who have offered to bring something in for our party.  It will be much appreciated and enjoyed.

Enjoy your child's day off Tuesday, Nov. 1!

PS- There IS math homework tonight.

Family Night

I forgot to put it in the newsletter, but October 6 is our family night.  You and your family are invited to attend a free pizza dinner, any time from 5-6 p.m.  Starting at 5:30, you can begin touring your child(ren)'s classroom(s) to learn about some fun activities to do with your child regarding reading and math.  Activities conclude at 7:00.  It should be a fun, relaxing evening.  I hope you'll be able to attend.  Please RSVP by Oct. 4 with the number from your immediate family attending so we can make sure we have enough food.  You only need to RSVP one time, regardless of the number of children.  Hope to see you there!

Math Homework

Tuesday- no math homework tonight.  Look for it tomorrow night:)

There IS math homework tonight.  I offered students an ad to use, but they may use any ad you have at home.  They should also keep this ad for tomorrow's homework.

And we're off...

It's been a great start to the school year so far! Perhaps the change in weather has been good.  We haven't always been getting through our math lessons, so homework is not coming every night.  If your child doesn't have homework one night, he or she should have it the next.  The homework folders seem to be working well. Bedroom map assignments mentioned in my newsletter won't be coming home until next week.

The students looked extra sharp today for their pictures! Have a great week!
